What would the founding fathers of the USA think if they could see us now?
Ladies and Gentlemen, the title says it all. This is not a troll post inviting dissension and bickering between conservatives and liberals. It may end up that way but that is not my intent.
I run the risk to see if any students of history out there will contribute if they have studied any of the founders enough to know what they might think of where 'we the people' have been the past two hundred years and where we are now.
I've read quite a bit about Jackson and Lincoln but very little on Washington, Franklin, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton or Madison. So if you know what you're talking about from a historic point of view please contribute. If not we can all learn a little something. One way or the other please keep political persuasion out of it if possible.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1936I think they would hang their head and say "After all that work, these people want to do it all over again?" History just seems to be repeating itself, it's not happening quickly, but it is doing it all over again...
Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott

The state the country is now in must remind them of the countries they came from.

I am not even close to being an historian, but in my highly uneducated opinion they would:
Delight in the fact the country has progressed so far in terms of recognizing the concept of racial equality.
Delight in the fact the country has progressed so far in terms of recognizing the concept of gender equality.
Delight in the fact the country has progressed so far in terms of recognizing the concept of freedom of speech and its related features.
Wince a bit over the level of disagreeable discourse, probably saying to themselves that some things will never change.

I think they'd throw a fit over how democratic the states have become.
