Default Second coldest place in the world on Saturday Night

I would have posted this yesterday, but needed a chance to thaw out a little.

Here in beautiful Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Saturday December 12th it was -46.2 degrees Celcius. That makes us the second coldest on the planet. The coldest place was in northern Siberia and it registered -48 degrees Celcius.

    Why do I live here?

I wonder how do you heat your house?
if its electric the bill must be as big as the deficit of a small country.

We use natural gas for the furnace. the bill for my 1500 square foot house, built in 2003 is about $200 Canadian per month in the winter.

    That is REALLY cold!

Makes me wonder why I was complaining about it being 5 degrees in Paris at the weekend... Yeesh!

How great to get the snow though! We dont really get much proper snow here in the UK and I really wish we did!

Can you post some pics of the view? I'd be keen to see what a proper winter looks like..!

I was in Edmonton in the mid 80's, one night it hit -68c with the wind chill factor. Invigorating

I thought that we have cold at the moment, but it is only about -20 C. Nice weather to take a long walk with the dogs (although i'm not sure if they agree).

    I don't much fancy that.

I'm not sure how cold i've been down to. Must be pretty cold sometimes when we're skiing, no where near that though.
