I agree with your point. Also i have no any reason to question your beliefs or your capability to read the word. My point is that the Bible (as well as Qaran) are books that make possible to read so many different ways, be it twisted mind or not. I will surely think that your way of choosing the moralistic parts from the Bible is compassionate and human, but that doesn't negate the fact that there are people in the world that read it from the different parts. As an agnostic it is really not my thing to find out what is the only one right way to read the Bible. Just saying that even those, everyone, who claim to tell you what God wants might show up to be wrong, or right, but who's to tell.
It is hard to get an unbiased or neutral opinion.

I truly respect that we are capable of having discussion about such personal things as religion without throwing sh.t in each others eyes. Personally i enjoy these conversations, which i see more like changing of opinions than trying to make you believe just the way i want.

So you know, I did not choose the moralistic parts from the Bible. Back in the Old Testament in the book of Isaiah the prophet told the Israelites: Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming Do you not see it? Isaiah 42:18&19.

It is not much farther when He comes to the prophesy of the suffering Servant.:Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. This is where my spirit was was touched this is where I began to see God's plan for those who will only believe by faith.
There is a huge difference between the Bible and the Qaran. The Qaran calls all who do not believe in Allah infidels and gives a pass to their heaven for any who kill them. If you have some time listen to a man by the name of Ergun Caner. He was raised in Islam his father planted mosques in the US. He came to know Christ and is not ashamed to tell people the difference between the 2 religions.
My point, is yes there are many who would take either book and manipulate them and yes it is a deadly practice. But those who truly follow Christ are not the ones who do these things but will defend our faith because of the black eye "wacko's"(I like that word) give us.
