Thanked: 431We 'serve' the Lord because He is so good. Make sin your master and then try to disobey and then the real fun begins and you will find out what a cruel slavemaster that it is along with your fellow slaves, they will do their due diligence to whip you into line. Try to make yourself the master of sin and you will eventually realize your delusion, possibly and sadly too late, many only realize it after they are one day 'put to bed' with a shovel. Know what I mean jelly bean?

Thanked: 431No. X is actually a 'highly advanced' (
) Artificial Life Form (ALF), but I believe that something is wrong with his programming.

If you gentlemen here are going to name something as a 'sin' here, please push your efforts a little further and explain it with your own logic; not just because it says in some old book. Sure you are capable of thinking?
The problem with the Bible (as well as with the Koran too) is that is very flexible book; you can read it as you like and almost always find the exact answers you want to suit your needs. You can do almost anything and get the approval and justification for what you want to do. Therefore it might be (and has been) dangerous book in the hands of religious fundamentalists or wackos alike.
Naming something to be 'sin' just because the Bible (or Koran) says so only tells about the limited capability of independent thinking and lack of moral. From the same book you can also find that same thing it isn't sin at all.
Earlier in this conversation someone claimed that religious bloodbaths in the history were conducted by mistaken men who actually made sin. So says the Bible. However it is likely that they only followed the moral codes of those times and also found a justification for their acts from the very same book. Therefore it is just a question how to read and how to pick up the answers you want.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 259none are so blind as those, who look, but cannot see
what a terrible life to live if you have nothing to look forward too at the end of your lifetime journey, but death and a hole in the ground or having your ashes spread somewhere. nothing to strive for, nothing guiding your daily actions to become a better person, nothing to guide you to a better way of life and most important nothing to bring happiness into your life and the lives of others around you....it is a shame not to believe, especially when logic proves you are wrong when you doubt the existence of a supreme being..
but then again, it is proven that non believers are not very logical when it comes to in depth thinking concerning a supreme being
