It is in our future. The ACLU along with other groups and systems and the appeals court system will be done away with, there will be true and righteous rule and judgment finally.

    I quote Norman Thomas:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under
the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist
program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without
    knowing how it happened."
I get tired of fighting. Sometimes I feel that I'm the lone wolf in the wilderness saying, "I told you so". It's comforting to come here and find that there are still individuals who pay attention to what's happening around them.

TexasBob is right. A couple of us at work have discussed the difference between Republicans and Democrats and came up with the same thing.......the difference between full blown Socialism vs. Socialism "light". The picture only proves that thinking people don't need a talking head to tell them what's happening.

I'm tired of seeing my freedoms disappear every time they get together in Washington......the party doesn't matter, it's the legislation. They have sworn to protect the spirit of the Constitution and then proceed to view it as a roadblock to their agendas.

The article itself alludes to liberalism crushing itself under its own weight in spending. That won't stop them. It will simply cause the stupid in the world to demand more government control. That's how they will win. When they've finally won, and they will........we've all lost. Republican, Democrat......no difference. One's just slower than the other, that's all.

    Great article, J!

you please explain this statement, JimmyHad? I truly hope you don't mean to say that more families being homeless is a good thing.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but what freedoms disappearing do you speak of?

Actually I was being sarcastic. I believe in government helping it's citizens. No I don't think anyone should be homeless and I think that if liberals ran things without conservative opposition every step of the way very few people would be homeless.

I too was wondering exactly what freedoms have been lost, as a number of posters claim. If they're referring to privacy freedoms due to the Patriot Act, okay. But it seems to me there are a number of folks who make the generalized claim that we're losing our freedoms, without getting specific. Anyone care to expound?

And as to not get too far afield from the OP-no, I don't think there will be an "end" in our lifetime, or the next lifetime, to either liberalism or conservatism. The underlying philosophies are simply too ingrained in our way of thinking, and the vast majority of the population falls, almost if not exactly, about equally into both camps.
