Thanked: 235In Australia we didn't have squirels, but we did have possums. I have seen some squirels here in Thailand and they are no where near as big as a possum. Anyway, possums like to live in roofs too, and when they get comfortable they like to have parties up there.
One of the solutions to this problem is snake poo. The melbourne zoo collects and sells snake poo which people put in their roofs. The possum smells the poo and thinks there is a big nasty possum eating snake living in the roof and they move out.

Just for fun here is a photo I took last month in Ocloknee State Park in Florida. I was told this is a white version of our normal grey cat squirrel, and not an albino. Very strange.

When I was growing up, people were divided not by political party, but by whether the head was suitable for frying or not. My folks were for it, so I know what fried squirrel is like (including the head).

Thanked: 335In my old house, a big 2 1/2 story duplex, I had squirrels in the attic. They had chewed through the eaves and made a great home for themselves before I bought the house. Trying to trap/chase them out of the house proved a delightlful game for the tree rats and a great frustration to me. More extreme methods were necessary. I had no cat, no dog, but did have a pellet gun and so the squirrels got lead poisoning; the holes were patched and that was that.
