I tried to check where these little dudes come into to house, and it was easy as it's winter: no traces on the ground level, but from my kids window i saw traces on my garage roof so it was obvious that they came straight from the nearby oak. I'll have to do some cutting later in the spring.

I complained about my poor destiny to my neighbor who kindly let me loan his squirrel ejecter. Works with rats and mouse too. I do not know the exact translation. It works on batteries, and transmits about 25-30 kHz ultrasound, preventing these dudes from sleeping.
I put the device in my middle roof from the checking hatch, and now the squirrels have been away for few nights. If they get back, i will buy an ejector or two of my own. Costs about 30 €. For some reason this device didn't affect our dogs.
If this thing really works, it has been a nice solution, as i really didn't want to terminate these fellows just because they just did what they were supposed to do. As long as they do it somewhere else.

Snake poo and some kind of scare crow would have been nice solutions too, but unfortunately they do not work here. Would be soon covered with snow.
Once the weather gets warmer i have to seal their entrances with some iron wire.
I've earlier had problems with ants, until i heard that putting cinnamon powder into ant paths prevents them from entering the house. It worked too.
Silent nights are back again (i hope).
Cinnamon flavored ants and squirrel brains?

For squirrels and small fur bearers, I used to buy this stuff at a local spice vendor called 100% capsaicin by the quart. Man, that stuff is pure liquid hell. Mix a healthy dose with some veggie oil and spray all over the area where you think they walk. Believe it or not, squirrels are trainable. They learn pretty quick not to walk around on certain areas. Only one application is needed, unless the application is outdoors and it rains... hence thinning the application.

I used to spray it around the veggie and flower garden and really anywhere where I didn't want squirrels to run ... like across the deck, bird feeders (bird feet are immune to capsaicin), etc...

It's also good for deer control. Just spray on the leaves on any shrub that the local deer find to be a delicacy. Yeah, they are trainable too.

The ultrasonic solution is a good one.
