I am a little confused by this remark. We cant say that an earthquake was caused by global warming, but we can say that tsunamis are. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes on the sea floor. As far as other weather related disasters, lets look at Katrina. The global warming people at the time said this was the first of more to come, they even went so far as to say that in the next year we were going to see 17 major hurricanes. They were only off by 16 or 17.

Part of the problem is that people choose a side and become a cheerleader for their agenda. And these agendas can be clouded sometimes behind rhetoric
Al Gore jumps to mind.
If you look a little closer I think you will find that the consensus is that the earth has warmed something like .5 deg celsius in the last 100 yrs. That has been extrapolated to mean that humans are destroying the earth. You will have a hard time saying that the vast majority of scientists believe in AGW(man made). To say we contribute maybe, but that we are the sole cause, my ***. Its kind of funny, we used to call climate change the weather and correct me if I am wrong but isnt the whole basis of evolution that we adapt to our enviroment. Not until now has any species tried to get their enviroment to adapt to what they think it should be.Quote:
By and large, the vast majority of scientists throughout the world agree that global climate change is real and will result in disastrous consequences if nothing is done. Unfortunately, pundits (who are essentially lobbyists for the republican party, and yet they insist that the media is liberal even though they ARE the media) apparently have more credibility than the men who have decided to devote themselves to science rather than a political party... simply because they have a louder voice and have no problem with the verbal bullying that goes on by Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, etc...
As for the media, and even the right wing pundits you have listed are progressives, they all believe in big government, the only difference being that the right wants bigger government to control our morality and the left wants big government to control everything else, imo.
Again Al Gore jumps to mindQuote:
Those pundits are the scum of the earth and they're selling out America to fill their own pockets.
Pure hogwash, imo, except for the danny glover part, before the comma.Quote:
Anyway, yes. Ignorant statment by Danny Glover, but he's right in the inference that global warming will lead to epic disaster in third world nations... and then later in first world nations...
