I am a little confused by this remark. We cant say that an earthquake was caused by global warming, but we can say that tsunamis are. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes on the sea floor. As far as other weather related disasters, lets look at Katrina. The global warming people at the time said this was the first of more to come, they even went so far as to say that in the next year we were going to see 17 major hurricanes. They were only off by 16 or 17.

If you look a little closer I think you will find that the consensus is that the earth has warmed something like .5 deg celsius in the last 100 yrs. That has been extrapolated to mean that humans are destroying the earth. You will have a hard time saying that the vast majority of scientists believe in AGW(man made). To say we contribute maybe, but that we are the sole cause, my ***. Its kind of funny, we used to call climate change the weather and correct me if I am wrong but isnt the whole basis of evolution that we adapt to our enviroment. Not until now has any species tried to get their enviroment to adapt to what they think it should be.
As for the media, and even the right wing pundits you have listed are progressives, they all believe in big government, the only difference being that the right wants bigger government to control our morality and the left wants big government to control everything else, imo.

Hogwash. If the equatorial area became hotter with no concurrent warming of the poles, then PERHAPS that might be the case, since it is the temperature DIFFERENTIAL that creates weather patterns. Since the poles are warming as well, this does not seem to be a likely scenario.

It seems like you're grasping at straws, though. I mean, both Glover and Robertson are well-known people - but the difference is, one acts likes a spokesperson for God and has an audience that is crazy enough to believe that he is, while the other is just some actor nobody's heard of since the Lethal Weapon movies.

Don't worry, you'll find something that carries the same weight - you'll probably just have to bide your time. :)

i could reference many comments both right and left that are both stupid and outlandish. this thread was in response to the one about pat and his big mistake.
calling all of pat robertsons followers crazy shows how intolerant you are of someones views that you do not adhere to. calling someone crazy for their beliefs in Christ and his teachings taught by someone(anyone) is ludicrous.
danny glover has been all over the news for the last few years. all you have to do is look and listen for him and he pops up quite often.

In this case, no, I'm not wearing my "blunder blinders." I think Glover sounded like a babbling idiot in that recording. However, I understood the point he was making. Like Robertson (I'm assuming), he wants to help the suffering Haitian people. Unlike Robertson, he's not talking about signed pacts with the Devil. They're just not "serious blunders" of the same caliber, you know? Robertson's would be a 45-70, while Glover's would be more like a .22 short.

Robertson said that God was punishing the Haitiians for their belief in a different God than his. Which is anti American ideals, with freedom of religion and all.

Glover said mother nature was punishing the Haitiians for our belief in a different God than his. I will help you out - his GOD and lots of other liberals is government. Which is anti American ideals, with limited government being our basic tenant of governing or at least it was.

I really dont see the difference, AFAIC Glover is shooting a Bazooka and Robertson is shooting blanks. Whose presence will you feel hardest, big government or God. I tend to think the later uses a hands off approach but thats just me.

Which one? That the Earthquake was caused by Global warming or that it's cause is the result of actions not taken at the climate summit in Copenhagen?

You may not look at Mr.Glover with the same disdain as you do Mr.Robertson but isn't that a bit prejudice (intolerant) against right? There is just as many "Global Warmers" ,if not more, than there are those who watch Robertson's 700 Club just most media would rather take their jabs at the religious right (which this was an easy shot to say the least)than the left. The thing is everyone has something they are intolerant about the key finding out how to bring it to the surface thus exposing the flaw.
