I still think its a funny picture. It does make me curious though how often Cheney and Bush were taken out of context
Some of Bush's not so out of context quotes:

I can press when there needs to be pressed; I can hold hands when there needs to be -- hold hands.
-George W. Bush, on how he can contribute to the Middle East peace process, Washington, D.C., Jan. 4, 2008

    a pure classic:

You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror.
--George W. Bush, interview with CBS News' Katie Couric, Sept. 6, 2006

Sadly, Bush was funny in his idiocy and humor. Obama isn't scrutinized the same way because he's polished and can actually read and write in English language. He needs to be criticzed in other areas imho.

The telepropmters are a good image, I still prefer 9/11 footage of Bush in the schoolroom, and his response to the events lol......pure act of genius lol

I sometimes had to lecture tech seminars, and I remember the hours and hours that went into the preparation for a 40 minute talk. And that is of course not including the mental aspect of standing in front of an attentive audience which makes me all queasy.

I have the honor of being able to call several 'famous' tech ed speakers my friends, and I know that they put a LOT of preparation in their talks. They know their stuff and they practise how to deliver for hours.

Otoh I know this guy frm microsoft research who is one of the big brains in the research department and who held a talk on formal language design that was so awkward that I left the room halfway through.

That said, a few written notes would have been more natural feeling for a classroom speech to 6th graders.

Not only a laugh, but a thanks for the laugh JMS...pretty revealing photo I'd say. Sadly, the 6th grade class = spoon full of sugar prop to sell whatever new program he was selling to the media via those ever present teleprompters.
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

As most of us know now, the TelePrompter's were for a speech to the press corps in another room not to the 6th graders..

The pics were taken out of context, amazing huh ????
Also note that not any of the main stream media showed this, wonder what Ole' Barry will look like when they turn on him, which they will...

However it is very interesting that the defense of Obama always goes to the same place

    "Barry is doing this"

    "Well Bush did that"

Fortunately the latest polls are showing that after 1 year you can't keep blaming Bush, the American people are really not "that" stupid...Sooner or later Barry you are actually going to have to be President, or step aside...

I'm guessing that is an AP photo? Isnt the AP part of the liberal Mainstream Media?

And the picture is pretty innocent when in the actual context of the photo, or am i not reading enough into it?

Yes Ben you didn't read enough into it, when the photo came out yesterday it was picked up by several Right wing blogs and used as "proof" the Obama can't even speak to 6th graders without his TelePrompters... This is the part that was taken out of context and run with anyway...

Things that are abnormal for a politician would be; not knowing how to spell, not being able to speak properly on camera, or not being able to name a single U.S. newspaper that you read when asked by a journalist. Now those are funny.
That event probably happened after he made a fool of himself in Massachusetts in support for Croakley
