    Default iPad

Ok people, I am starting a thread on Apples new creation. Let the geeks come out and have their say!

Personally, I think looks awesome, but not sure how much I would be able to make use of it. Still waiting for Jobs to announce a price too…

I agree… the name is a bit flawed.

It does have iWork, including keynote, so there is potential for productivity. I give a lot of presentations at work, so I could see the keynote functionality being especially useful. Not sure that that is enough though.

Looks a lot like a big Iphone. Don't get me wrong, I like my Iphone. If it were the size of the Ipad it loses the one thing I like about it. Size. The Ipad is a slick little device, but I don't see it as a technical revolution.

I was hoping for a smaller, tablet version of a Mac. Instead they delivered a big iPod. I probably would have bought one if it had Mac OS on it, but with the only possible things you can install being applications, I'm just not remotely interested. My iPod Touch can handle that AND fit in my pocket. Also, Windows 7 supports multitouch, meaning they will probably release a tablet just like the iPad with Windows 7 on it and multitouch use. I will probably buy that.

EDIT: Also, no flash support... did Steve Jobs not realize how stupid that idea was when he did that with the Touch/iPhone?

DON'T FORGET....Ipad doesn't support flash, and 75% of the internet is flash driven

It seems kinda silly... Basically just a big iPod. You cant load photoshop or other such applications, and it is not very powerful. Might be fun for reading, or watching a movie or even playing a game, but not practical to use at the job, or school IMO. If it were more powerful, and could load applications like word editors and such, I would definitely be interested, especially at the aggreable price of $500 for 16gb
