My avatar is the logo for Commander Task Force 43, which was the U.S. Navy's Operation Deep Freeze which supported scientific exploration of Antarctica back in the day. I was a Navy journalist assigned to Deep Freeze in the 1967-68 operating season. One of the best experiences of my life. I was hoping that some other OAE (Old Antarctic Explorer) might recognize it and make a connection. But, so far, no one has seemed to notice.
Regards- Walt
The logo was designed by Walt Disney Studios and represents the Coast Guard with an icebreaker, a C-130 for the air support of VX-6, the Navy's air wing in the Antarctic, The Sea Bees, the Navy's construction battalion is represented by the bee, and the adelie penguin indicates the area we were working in.

I'm late to the party but better late than never. My avatar is self explanatory.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I am old enough, and wasted enough of the golden hours of youth on cartoons, to remember all three: Felix the Cat (the wonderful, wonderful cat), Usagi Yojimbo, and (most dimly) Crusader Rabbit.

And for my part, nothing so profound. I've always loved music and used to get great joy out of singing in groups, especially the men's glee club at college and a much (much, as in beer) less formal group of guys a decade or so ago. So when I found this Norman Rockwell image of a quartet in a barbershop, it seemed appropriate.
