Thanked: 198could use some global warming right now
with all the hype/non hype of global warming. i have one thing to say, and that is this, I could definately use some global warming right now. Here in my little part of the world, we are in the upper teens/lower 20's with a wind chill of around 0. this is the second year in a row, that we have had these bitter temperatures. I dont believe that i am the only one with these regards.

A little hotter wouldn't hurt here either. -20 degrees C and a windchill of almost -30 (-4 and -22 F).

Wvloony, Fahrenheit or Celsius?
-23 C here (-9 F). I do not know about the wind chill but there's almost damn windy here on the coast. However this not bad after you get used to it.Last edited by Sailor; 12-14-2010 at 06:08 PM.

Ah yes, the temperatures have gone down a bit over here as well. -17C here now.
But as we say here, there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes.
(and that sounds way better in Norwegian)

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I'm sure the eskimos would also prefer to lay all day on the beach and just reach for a banana from the tree when they get hungry, to clubbing baby seals. So I'd say very likely you're not the only one with those thoughts. Neither the only one who doesn't understand the difference between 'local' and 'global'.

and I think gugi could use some encouraging news from his liberal agenda sources! Seems he is sweating a little not from global warming but from anecdotal evidence to the contrary!

Now seriously for a while
. Although this is a second winter in a row with much lower temps, it is more like getting towards normal. Last 30 winters or so have been enormoysly warm. When i was a kid winters were much colder and snow came almost 3-4 weeks earlier.

Thanked: 198i remember when i was younger, the winters were colder, with alot more snow, mind you im going back to the 70's. then for most of the past 30 years, the weather was milder in the winter. i guess we are due for some cold weather again, i just hate to deal with it, especially when i am work. for you see, i work in a copper mill. My actual department is the smelt house, so i work around molten copper all night long, and on these cold nights, when its in the teens outside, it usually hovers in and around 35 degrees INSIDE. now i can understand if i worked a construction job outside, but seriously, i work inside, and around 2200 degree copper all night, and still i freeze my arse off. i am just glad i have a good running wood stove at the house to keep me warm when im not working. all degrees mentioned are in F
