Clearly the problem is an inferior thermostat.
Lobby your governments to install a Honeywell.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

The temperature hasn't been too bad here (sitting at -4c right now) but it's been snowing for at least a week now.....holy freaking snow eh?

    Cheers,

"Now most facts show that global warming might be going on. I do not give about dogs turd if its man made or not. What is done is done and so be it."

Well, the problem with this statement is that if global warming is a man-made phenomenon, then we have it within our power to proactively respond to the problem-i.e. steps to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. That's a vastly different response than if warming is occurring without human involvement, since that presupposes we can't do much about the cause.
So I do believe it makes a big difference what the cause is.

I not trying to rub it in guys, but yesterday it was 76 here in Tucson and unfortunately a cold front moved in today, the high was 65 with a slight chance of rain, burrr, might have to take the shorts and t-shirt off and go dig out the pants and sweatshirt. Stay warm.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

I know about those hard southern Arizona winters. Just comfort yourself with the knowledge that summer is right around the corner ReardenSteel

Last year was the only winter on record where we actually had enough chilling hours to grow temperate fruit trees. Many of our very old coconuts died from fungal desease brought on by chilling. Brrrrrrrrr. It barely reached 68F today, and they are calling this a warm spell?
I know one thing, even down here it cost way more energy to heat than to cool, simple physics I guess.
Big Government is geared up for a warming world and making a profit, could it be they got something wrong again? Yeah, weather vs climate, but ^^&^&^ this is south Florida. Brrrrrrrrrr!

Guys I think we already have this thread, something along the lines of "global warming true/false".... That said so far this winter and last I'm fairly sure we've had more snow then the last 10 years added together. I realize has less to do with moisture/chance/jet streams the like.... But I love it... It's nice having distinct seasons with unique weather.

Maybe the biggest mistake the scientists made was not to christen it 'Climate Change' right from the start. 'Global Warming' is a difficult concept to sell to sceptics, especially when you have, as we are having in the UK, the coldest winter for over 300 years.
Virtually all organisations that had been taking information from the UK Meteorogical Office about the predicted year on year temperature rise, cut back on expenditure and provision for dealing with, what is for us, intense cold and snow clearance. Hence the chaos of the past month.
Likewise, the more environmentally friendly household 'condensing' boilers which the government has been promoting, have been failing at an alarming rate as the design can't cope with very low temperatures.
