My sister in law used to have a soft-top, half-door Jeep Wrangler... they always left the doors unlocked for exactly that reason. The dimwit that eventually broke in slashed the window anyway...

I ended up taking a taxi to work today and bumming a ride home. Still have to call the insurance people. I have little to no mechanical inclination and few if any tools, so I'm not going to mess with it. I'll go through insurance and hopefully I'll get things fixed up soon.

I was lucky it wasn't raining hard yesterday, and I don't think it rained today (been inside all day... again), but I have the window taped up with a garbage bag and packing tape. Still have to vacuum out all the glass - with so many layers of clothes on to stay warm at the rink, I just sat on it when I drove home last night and took off a layer of clothes before I went inside my place.

Anyway, I was shocked awake this morning by my alarm and been working all day, so I haven't even had time to think about it at all. AKA not mad about it anymore. So, off to call insurance and then hot shower, food, and some booze. It was a short weekend by comparison to most, but it was still about 37 hours in three days.

Anyone else think it's odd that I'm checking email, ebay, and SRP before I shower? If you do... you just haven't been here long enough yet.
I had my jeep broken into a few years ago in college. They punched a hole in the door (to unlock) and literally ripped the headunit out of the dash (wires were broken not cut, dash trim was all broken, etc). The funny thing was though that my headunit was the cheapest Pioneer... around $150 new. right below the headunit was my $1k Garmin GPS, which was left right where it was. When the police came to take the report I mentioned that and the response was "a GPS doesn't play CD's, these guys don't know what that $hit does".
Insurance was no-deductible since it was a break in. Repairs were around $1200.
