I can understand loud music bothering some people but your calling people idiot's is a bit a**holish. I'm sure there are things you do that bother others. Would you be tolerant of them calling you an idiot?

More tolerant than the term you've applied to me for using it. I think that people that play their music in an automobile with sub woofers that vibrate windows in other peoples vehicles, storefronts, homes are worse than idiots. It is not bad manners, it is no manners. Politeness, I once read is the glue that bonds society together. People who thoughtlessly, or worse, with premeditation impose their 'music' on bystanders are impolite AFAIC.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I used to be one of those guys,
when i first passed my test i had a MKIV escort 1.8 diesel, and it ended up with 3 batteries in series because the amps and such like drained the power so much. I went for clarity over bass aswell did quite a good job although i did have to add several layers of sound proofing all over my car and most of the speakers mounted on sponge to help with that.

I could bounce a penny right off the roof of my car which was rather cool. but i didn`t tend to play it that loud when i was driving, it wouuld give me head aches, if i couldn`t hear another cars engine when it was beside me at the lights my music was too loud.

i admit i would turn it up when i saw a pretty lady, or when we were at a cruise but i tried to show some modicum of responsibility with it.

    Jimmy,
I think anyone blasting a car stereo to the inconvenience of others would need an upgrade to be called an idiot. I call them a$$holes.

I used to live up the block from a bar that would hold "who has the loudest car stereo competitions" at 2 am. I went down and spoke to the car owners, the bar owner, the party promoters and then finally the police. I shouldn't have to explain to you why it's not ok to shake my windows from half a block away with your loud, clear car stereo. At 2 pm it wouldn't be right but it wouldn't bother me as much.

It's was interesting to see the number of violations and arrests that were made when the Police started coming around.

I don't notice it all that much when I'm idling next to such a car at a stoplight, Jimmy; I notice it most often when they're parked right across the street from my home. I love the idling car that shakes our windows late at night with the endless, incessantly repetitive bass loops. It's so cool. We're entering party season now as far as the neighbors are concerned. Rest assured, the law enforcement in my town will be spending a lot of time on my block per my demands.

For those that may think it's fine to boom your car stereos like that, it would have to be fine then for me to pull a megaphone out, roll down my car window and literally scream at the top of my lungs non-stop for the duration of the red light?

Would it be OK if I did that standing on my front porch at 1am if you were my neighbor?

Man, you guys are just of over the hill has beens. You are so far behind the times you don't realize these guys with these bass blasters are where it's at. You guys may just as well sit in your rocking chairs.

I'll bet guys like you...well...you shave with things like straight razors.
