I'm curious about this Stolichnaya - vodka ?
I seldom drink Whisky nowadays - only on a special occasion or one of my friends suggests a nice rare Malt we haven't tried .... I do love spiced rum tho - it's a struggle in the morning NOT to try n sample the bay rum just to see

You can get 12 year old Macallan for a reasonable price at bevmo (around $40). It's a damned fine scotch. It doesn't hold a candle to the 18 year old though (but the 18 year old will set you back $140 or so). I think Macallan is way underrated, I actually prefer it to laiphrog.

Ed I still haven't broken the seal on that bottle of Balvenie Double Wood. When are you coming back down this way?

Whisky Galore...hehe
ok boys I see garry has a posted pic of him in a kilt...good man, like him I live in scotland, only I live alot further north, closer to the distilleries like, Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Macallan,Craigellachie,Chivas, the list is endless I mention those because they are but a few within 30 mins drive from me, personally Im a rum drinker because being scottish , well thats wrong, being from the north east we...I mean I forget that drinking is to be enjoyed, not a first past the post job.
I can highly recommend Glenfiddich as the best tour to take , having done it with every visitor that comes from the USA to our house ( my wife is a native of NC) and I enjoy it everytime and if you must travel this far north, Johnstons woollen mill for the cashmere goods, if there are ladies in your group...s**t I sound like a tourist guide....enough of that..
Dublin too for the Jameson distillery is great also...been there twice too, plus there are a load of Barbers there that do a good shave, only its exspensive as hell, i go to the same place everytime.
ok guys hope this doesnt bore you too much....simon

My favorite Scotch distillery of all time is Springbank. Their last 21-year-old bottling was the best Scotch I've ever had. Their special 175th anniversary bottling (a limited edition, aged 12 years) also was excellent. A very close second for me is Lagavulin. Tasty stuff. My favorite Bourbon is Blanton's.
