I use Suse 10 and to play the quicktime files you need to install Mplayer and all of the plugin's, you can find all the details at www.suseforums.net or www.linuxquestions.org they are both excellent sites.

As I mentioned before in this thread, yeah, it's deb-based. That makes it an easy switch for all Debian users. What I like about it that it's both extremely versatile and easy to use.

    Default Linux and QuickTime

    Hi Eddie,

Have you tried MPlayer? If not, have a look at their Website, on:

    www.mplayerhq.hu

It will play QuickTime files, as well as a host of other formats.

    Good luck!

I believe it is, but I prefer KDE over Gnome, just a personal preference...

If you're a KDE fan, try Kubuntu. It's the same Debian based distribution as Ubuntu, but with the KDE GUI instead of Gnome. I have computers running both versions, and they are both quite easy to use.

Hey Guys. Thanks for the feedback about Mplayer. I got some great instructions from FUD, and I am downloading it with Yast, at this moment.

So, hopefuly, I'll tell you guys that I got Mplayer working OK, on my SuSE 10 notebook. Now, I'll be able to see those shaving videos.

    Thumbs up Success !!

Hey ! I am using Mplayer!

All the video clips that I couldn't see before, now I'm enjoying them. Thanks to all who answered , but especially to FUD (Glen), he gave me instructions for downloading the codecs, and today, he told me how to download the whole Mplayer package using Yast, the SuSE tool.

Now, you guys can help me build my collection of SRP videos.

I have only three , the Lynn video (I think that's Lynn)
and the "razors gone wild" video, and the Three Stooges video.

Hey Eddie welcome to the group. Looks like you found some help on the computer. I guess that you already know that there is a lot of help for razors here as you and I have already discussed.
I can barely make out your new grandson Franky. What I can see he is cute.
    Anyway, welcome to the group.
if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.
