Thread: Shows you watched as a kid

I used to love the original Transformers, as well as the following series. I have since rewatched them, and I can't figure out why I ever liked them. The same is true of the Robocop animated TV series.

Adam-12, Emergency!, Dragnet, Gunsmoke, Night Gallery (which was never a good idea), Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom (where it always seemed to me that Jim got the s**t jobs and Marlin was back in camp getting lit on Beefeater martinis, or something)

I love the rifle man the part where he twirls that 30-30 around to throw another shell in her is awasome, I love leave it to beaver,the munsters, the adams family, the A-Team, knightrider, tom and jerry, The fall guy, M.A.S.H. I love lucy, liverln and sherly, Happy days, Dougie howser MD, Family ties, All in the family, family matters, Tales from, the darkside,tilightzone, and the three stooges. ..

Holy cow, no wonder i dont fit in amoungst normal people my age, few people my age have heard of most of these shows. Well i have always wondered why i feel right at home on SRP.

My favorites include The Prisoner, Secret Agent, Get Smart, Abbot & Costello, F-Troop, Man From Uncle (wasn't there a "Girl From Uncle: too?), Astro Boy the cartoon, Hawaii Five-O, Star Trek, I Spy, All Creatures Great and Small, Yes Prime Minister, and Yes Minister (English sit-coms), Keeping Up Appearances, and some others I'm sure I have missed. And I have to include Soupy Sales and on the radio my favorite is Jean Shepard the last of the great story tellers. His movie "A Christmas Story" is also on the list.

Oh, and a game show called "Split Second" hosted by Tom Kennedy. A fast version of Jeopardy I think. Add to the list "Concentration" and the old version of The Price is Right hosted by Bill Cullen. What's My Line was good too. Dam* did i give away my age!

Also, on Saturday nights there was something called "Kung Fu Theatre" that showed the imported kung fu movies all night, the ones that had the dubbed english track and did not sync up. Classics.

Born in '65, I am mostly a child of the 70's. Early on I remember The Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Twilight Zone, Gilligan's Island, The Munsters, The Adams Family, Beverly Hillbillies, Room 222, Star Trek, etc. (late 60's).

In the 70's I loved The Brady Bunch, Emergency, SWAT, The Rookies, the great comedies like Mash, All in the Family, Happy Days, Barney Miller, Taxi, then later great cop dramas like Hill Street Blues. Does anybody remember the ABC After School specials, or the ABC movie of the week? I also enjoyed sleeper shows like James at 16 (short-lived)

Saturdays we had cartoons: The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour, all the great old toons, then Shock Theater (horror movies) in the afternoon if my mom didn't kick us out to play.

I missed a lot of evening television in the 80's and early-mid 90's working my way through college on 2nd shift; so never really got the Friends and Seinfeld phenomena.

In the 90's/2000's I always loved Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens.

Of course my favorite sitcom of all time is Andy Griffith-nothing has ever come close to equaling its comic genius. I've enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

warner brothers cartoons were the best. buggs bunny, elmer fud, wiley coyote, and daffy duck had me practicly glued to the tv every saturday morning....I used to watch hee haw a lot too
