Sausage-like shoe laces? What is this?
Let me preface this by saying I'm rather out of touch with the world of sneakers. I just put on the first new pair I bought since 2002 or maybe it was 2003 (WOW they are so much comfortable than the old, broken down, worn out pair I'd had).
But what is the deal with these shoe laces? They look like sausage links; they are narrow/wide/narrow/wide. Is this a common thing or did I just get weird ones?

They're very good if they're cooked right and not as stringy as the old fashioned shoe laces.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Maybe it's just a NB thing. They are officially called "bubble laces."

Funny, 4 customer reviews here all praising the laces because their shoes no longer become untied. I've been tying my shoes since I was maybe 5 years old and never ran into that problem with the same old laces we know and love.
