Thanked: 443I am very sorry for your loss. I spent many years of my life close, sometimes very close, to the decision your son made. Every time I hear such news I wince at all the pain, of the people left behind and, because I understand it better, of the person lost. It is an internal pain, I think, not any external failure, that leads to such a decision. As an earlier poster said, there is no blame, only the loss. And for the lost, the only release they could understand. And a release, fortunately, that only a few of us can understand.
My thoughts are with you."These aren't the droids you're looking for." "These aren't the droids we're looking for." "He can go about his business." "You can go about your business."

Ian,
I am sorry for your loss, but I can't begin to imagine your pain. May you find peace that surpasses understanding.
I have to go hug my kids now... I hope I don't wake them.
Best wishes to you and your family.

I know what it is like to lose a child, we lost one to an automobile accident. My brother took his life in '92. Despite any possible feelings to the contrary, you are far from being alone. May God have mercy on your family.
