Thanked: 1371Grrr... Tech Support
My modem doesn't work; the new modem they sent doesn't work...
Tech support: "If you go to our website and download the new software and drivers it should work."
Anyone see the problem here?

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

HNSB,
Reminds me of the time my home phone wasn't working.
I rang the phone company from the office and arranged a time for the engineer to come to my house to fix the phone.
I waited at home all day, and nothing. So I rang the phone company from a call box and they said that they had rung my home number to let me know the engineer couldn't come
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

You should always ask to speak to someone with some intelligence but be prepared for a long wait
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Real similar to my experience with Los Angeles Water & Power. We had an outtage about a month ago and I'm on the phone to report it. While on hold, a message comes on telling me I can go to their website to do all this neat stuff. I think LADWP must somehow be related to the company that produced your modem

What kind of connection do you have that you need modem drivers or software? Or is that the cause of a second facepalm?

Thanked: 235Take comfort in the fact that your service providers are not like here in Thailand. Well, they are the same, but everything is in Thai. Just makes everything so much more confusing.
On the plus side it is a great excuse to get the wife to do all that type of stuff.
