Thanked: 1160Thinking out loud..
As I sit here writing and making a new overseas friend who is having some rough times,I have had two domestic disturbances happen all in the same block of my hovel 5 minutes apart. One guy was tweekin and freakin on his girlfriend. The other was some girl being attacked by someone she knew(she was shouting his name wilst screaming in a bloodcurdling fashion) and Now I can hear the tweeker goin off again yet(they were in the building next door to me). The news is depressing and the world is going to heck with no handbasket in sight it seems and the roof of my apartment building is leaking so bad that two units next door and two doors down the hall have had their ceilings cave in and it's predicted to rain for the next three days. The management company that runs my building is very shady and so far it seems they won't fix the roof .....I'm glad I got renters insurance when I did........Did I mention the moon is nice and full tonight hmmmmm...........gonna go hone my blades in a few here.Seems like the only sane normal thing to do. follow it up with a nice scrape and some tea afterwards mebbe ,then curl up with the ol kitty cat....sigh......I hope tomorrow is better.

well nightblade, its stories like this that make me happy im up here in the hills of pa. The biggest disterbance we have other than the neighbors truck comign home at 2am is the occasional coon or bear poking thru the burn barrel but the old .22 or -06 keeps them down.
I do miss seeign lots of people near the house daily, but thankfully i still am out enough to meet some chicks.

Thanked: 1160Deerhunter...........I used to have a life like that when I was a teenager. One of my favorite things, silly as it may seem is being in utter outdoor silence and hearing a distant train or an occasional vehicle going down a lonely road. I still remember times growing up in Michigan where It would be night time and the crickets and chicades would be so thick and noisy that it would sound like a giant natural sound equalizer if that makes sense? You could hear the pitch going up and down,it was weird with the noise being broken by the occasional bull frog(or old man coughing as I would always put it)....and how I miss it. I miss the Northern lights too a lot. The smell of two stroke boat motor fuel is like heaven to me as well as wet freshly rained on earth. I used to spend my springs hunting for Morel mushrooms right after a fresh rain and in winter time I would bundle up good ,put on goggles and walk around town when the blizzards would hit....made me feel like Nanook of the North sorta. All these things are gone and now I have noisy rude*** people, graffitti and the smell of bum whiz in my ally. The crackheads are so warm and fuzzy this time of year too....you just want to hug'em(or wring the very life out of'em).Gooooood times !

Nightblade,
Always after reading such posts like yours it makes me happy to live far from the big world and big cities (there are no such things as big cities in my country). Actually this is a small island with not too many people around.
Of course there are downsides too: when Nasa sent Phoenix spacecraft out to Mars to find if there's any life there, my kids said that Nasa should have sent it to my home island instead.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
