Default Hot enough for you ?

At 7:10 PM it is 89 Fahrenheit here. Down from the low 90s. Not as hot as it is in some parts of the USA but hot enough for me. Thank God for AC. I don't know how I got along without it when I was a kid but we did. None in the house, schools or on city buses until maybe the early to mid 1960s. This heat reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode. Then again, a lot of this life is reminiscence of that old TV show.

At home in VA today one of my friends said it got up to 102.
Here at my lakeside cottage in the Berkshires it got up to 97 for a bit but the humidity burned off by noon. It's nice this week to have the lake handy.
Someday I'lll put in AC up here (when I get around to putting in a geothermal heat pump but the propane works wonderfully it just costs an arm and a leg) but most of the time a fan is sufficient.
If any of ya'll are bored, come on over. The water is amazing. In fact, I shaved in the lake yesterday and plan on doing so again tomorrow.

Funny, this has been our coldest summer in years. We are usually between 100 and 110 F by now. Lately we have been between 80 and 85 F.

Man, 80-85 sounds great about now. We've been anywhere from 95-105 for better than a week now, with plenty of humidity to go with it. At 5:30 this morning it was still 83. And on top of this heat, I don't think we've had so much as a drop of rain all month.

Yeah, that just sounds atrocious. My in laws live about an hour west from OKC and have said it's been rough. My father in law ended up turning his wheat crop in to hay this year.

It's a tad hot here in Arizona too, plus our monsoon is in gear so it adds the humidity so I feel your pain. All hail Willis Carrier, the inventor of air conditioning.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

We were in the 100's yesterday. Last night I don't think it went under 90. Apparently we are getting a heatwave that's rolling in from the Midwest. No A/C at home, but i have ceiling fans and I can sit around scantly clad with a damp washcloth all day. Or take refuge in my basement workshop, where it's barely over 70. But coming back upstairs from that cool is SO unpleasant.
