    Naymond,
I am so glad you are doing well and the surgery went well. I was thinking of you when I was driving home from Georgia at the end of July, as I had to drive through Murfreesboro. I hope your recovery continues to progress and you are back to your old self soon. Concentrate on getting well and not making things for others. There will be plenty of time for that once you are healed.

Welcome back Naymond! Be a good kid and do what you are told and you can get on your feet and out of there all the sooner.I do not envy you at the present, but hopefully this Doc knows what he is doing(sounds like it) and things will only get better. God bless, Kelly

Two weeks and let me tell ya.. I feel great now.. I no longer need anything for walking, like a walker or cane... I only wear my back brace when I have walked more than usual. I still can't bend or anything but all in all I feel tons better. I have been recovering at a very nice rate regaining strength and feeling in my legs on a day to day basis. Also I am taking substantially less and weaker pain meds than I was before I even had the surgery. For so long I had that pins and needles feeling in my upper thigh and was told that there was a very good chance it would not go away because is meant that it was permanent nerve damage. So I catch myself poking and prodding at my leg just to feel something other than the pins and needles... I can stand up without help, ect. Now I still have to use a sock Hock to get my socks on but as they say.. baby steps. Either way I feel great. I am thinking that my Doc was thinking like I was... Go ahead and get the worse out in the open that way it's not so disappointing should the worse happen. Now all I have to do is keep that Autoimmune disease from preventing the fusion from taking... That medicine starts next week. It's great though... I haven't felt this good since I was injured in 2001... Although I have to admit I have been on pain pills for so long... I was able to pull myself off of them after my first fusion for a little while, and I found that my brain over works then. Either way it is an awesome feeling, and as time goes on I look forward to spending more and more time outside as I rarely was able to get out of the house due to being heavily medicated. Again thank you all for your wishes and prayers, I will be sending blessings for you all.

    Gonna keep this one short..

On top of the back issues I also have Psoriatic Arthritis and have to take Humira to keep my immune system from attacking my joints, aaaand the Fusions.. The draw back is that I can catch infections really easy. two weeks after the surgery they had me go on Humira and all was well.. I did what my doc said "Wash the incision with Hibiclense, ect.." Well there were two anchor stitches that were hanging out.. I tried to tell them that it would get infected but they said it should dissolve on it's own.. (It happened before without the humira).. so to make a long story short it got infected... apparently my body did not like the stitches.. I got a fever.. so had to spend a couple of days getting IV antibiotics.. Other than that.. they snipped the stitches and cleaned it all up.. took Xrays of the Spine and this is the result..

Besides the two areas the incision healed very very nicely.. the fusion is taking better than expected... the hardware (which I found out that he decided to add extra hardware to protect the fusion because he remembered that I said I wanted to get out and hike and such) is holding great. Because of the infection he wants me to take it easy for a little longer (september 7th) just to make sure.. So besides the little hickup.. all is well.. can't WAIT to get to my soap making.. I hate using commercial soap...
