I use both. And for both I use Ivory. Great soap for those of us with sensetive skin.

A little of both I think. I use Dr. Bronner's liquid soap and a "Poofy Thingie." Not really a body wash, just soap in liquid form. Maybe it's the same thing, I don't know. It's excellent shower soap, though, and using the mint soap on a warm day is like nothing else. It makes you feel all tingly. I'm also partial to the almond soap. It's also interesting to read the semi-lucid rantings covering every inch of the bottle.
Highly recommended, though. It uses real plant oils so it doesn't dry out the skin, and leaves a nice scent. I've seen the bar form in some groceries, but some of the health food stores carry the liquid variety. Or you could always order it online.

I switched to body wash....If old spice would make the swagger scent in bar form I would switch to it. For those of you not wanting to waste any, I put my body wash (I thought I wasted a lot, and I did) and shampoo in hand soap dispensers...two squirts for body wash and I am good to go, one squirt for shampoo.

Thanked: 317Don't worry, you're in the right place.
You're definitely in the right place.
Oh yes, I have thoughts.
First of all, I'm with you. A good old fashioned bar of soap leaves me feeling cleaner and fresher than any body wash I've ever tried. So, 9/10, I use good old Irish Spring.
On the other hand, my wife bought me some men's body-wash made by C.O. Bigelow because she liked the smell.
Having SWMBO liking the way you smell is a good thing, in a big way.
Getting ready for work?
Irish Spring.
Getting ready for date night?
Whatever the heck SWMBO likes.

Thanked: 485I'm no 'whippersnapper' (49), but I currently use body wash, or even shampoo (it's all the same) and a 'poofy thing', other times a wash cloth and either body wash and shampoo or 'natural soap' like goat's milk, etc. Last soap I got was Nag Champa, really nice smell. My father used to use 'Solvol' to wash his hair, Solvol is like a really, really course soap; like sandpaper for getting oil off your hands. The other day I used Body Shop Macca Root shaving cream to wash my hair with because I liked the smell so much. I actually think a lot of shaving soaps would make nice 'body soap' in the shower and for hair washing. I've got REALLY oily skin (If I pass my fingers over my brow they come away almost wet with oil (gross, I know, but I credit that for my astonishingly youthfully looks :-) I look maybe 10 years younger than my twin brother (though he smokes a lot)...anyway, point being, nothing I use to wash with makes any difference at all to my skin. I think you've got to use something (either cloth or poofy thing), just your hands do nothing to exfoliate, etc. I must confess I used to steal all my wife's, skin creams ages ago way back before it was 'normal' for guys to do use that stuff as it is now...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thanked: 101I have some Old Spice body wash. Not a fan. It takes too much to get a lather and the washcloth glides over my skin instead of biting in. Also leaves my slimy when I get out of the shower. I like Lever 2000 soap and a coarse washcloth. I have dry skin in the winter and oily skin in the summer. Lever is about the best for what I need. I like Irish Spirng and Zest as well though too, but the Lever is what the wife buys......Hmmmm I may go get a pack of Zest..

I am the only Male in a house with 3 females. There are times when life sucks and those times are more often than not all related to Bathroom realted activities. About 2 years ago my oldest daughter decided that Body wash was far better than bar soap. Like little lemmings my wife and other daughter followed suit. So it was body wash only in our shower. We would go grocery shopping and I swear on my life we would spend 35 minutes in the soap isle while they smelled every bottle and decided what Cucumber Melon scented body wash to get this week. After about a year of being poofed with these scents I went and bought a thing of Axe Body wash which was not my cup of tea. Just way to strong a scent for my liking and left me with a slippery feeling all over when done. The next week in Costco They had like a 48 pack of soap bars on sale and I grabbed it. No looking back for me on this one.

I'm a brush and bar soap man. Nothing else makes you feel so clean and refreshed. Body wash has too many ingredients I can't pronounce and it takes up too much space in the shower. Not to mention, traveling with body wash is a complete waste.
