Thanked: 1587Yes, it is great to see the standard of Rugby improve across the board. I have a feeling that bonus points are not going to come as easily in this World Cup as they have in previous ones.
Any of you guys using the World Cup app (I have the android one, but I think there's an i-p*** one too)? I am finding it quite a well thought out and useful addition to my phone and would recommend it, especially since it is free (or ad supported anyway).

Have not seen the App yet Jimbo but will look for it today.
Well yet another night I stayed up all night watching matches live.
Canada v Tonga was allot of fun to watch. Kleeberger was a machine for Canada. I thought Canada did a good job defending inside but was nervous when ever tonga got the ball outside quickly. It seemed Canada had no defenders out there, I am only guessing this was part of there plan as it was so frequent. Either way a win for Canada to start the tournament off right.
Trillium are you playing Toronto Scottish this Saturday at Fletchers?

So what was up with the Scotland v Georgia game? I didn't expect Scotland to be exceptional but still that was a pretty slim margin...

I am not sure what to make of that. Actually it seems indicative of allot of matches. I wonder if teams commitments to bigger stronger forwards and defense is what is keeping some of these matches tighter than one would expect.
Rugby being a newer passion for me I will not try to say I have the knowledge to truly dissect it. But I see it somewhat like how hockey went when teams first started playing the trap. Made crappy teams more competitive and kept games a little closer.

Thanked: 198i just saw the score of the ab's game against japan, and i am now wondering, did japan even field a squad, i know that is a horrible thing to say, but comeon that score was a complete blowout.

The last time they played, 4 years ago, it was much worse. 147-0 or something...

Just finished watching it here - full credit to Japan, they played with a lot of spirt and put on a good show. Was a very entertaining game! The score definitely didn't reflect Japan's commitment.
I don't think there are many positives for the AB's from that game, play got mighty scruffy at times. They will have to put it together against France!

Yeah, was this your first time watching a NZ v Japan match? This can be considered a victory for Japan (not talking them down - it's just the facts). Now I just caught the tail end of Argentina v Romania and man, that was rough. Hat's off to Romania for playing, but wow that was hard to watch. And then Fiji v SA wasn't much better (damnit!).
