Politicians want to control the people that put them in office. What better way to control people than outlaw the things they like to do?

The first thing you have to do is get that Fluoride out of the water. Secret scientific tests have conclusively shown it's turns men into girly men and makes women more aggressive. It also turns you into an automaton easily subject to suggestion.

I'm guessing another 4 hrs until this thread is closed for Mod review.
I believe a few things:
1. Less people use tobacco in any form than did 50 years ago.
2. Children that grow up in households in which one or both parents use tobacco are exponentially more likely to try and become addicted to tobacco.
3. Baseball players chewing or not chewing have very little or nothing to do with children deciding to chew.
4. Less government=better government.

Why? Do you think that we are a secret chapter of the Democrats?
I think most US staff and senior members vote republican actually.
We did a general poll in 2008 right after the election, and the 'vote' in our US membership was 3 or 4 to 1 in favor of the Republicans. That was an interesting slant. Given the landslide victory for Obama, I would have expected a 1/1 ratio.
We took some guesses about the reason. The most plausible reason I could think of was that if you are a republican, you are likely to be more of a conservative mindset and therefore more likely to have an interest in historical activities. That said, it is hardly a conclusive argument.
EDIT:
Btw, if you should have the idea that we close threads in which conservatives express their opinion, that is certainly not by design. Even though we don't express political bias, there are 4 republicans for every democrat, so if we can assume that threads go out of bounds at random, then there will be more 'republican' threads closed than 'democrat' threads.Last edited by Bruno; 10-19-2011 at 08:30 PM.

Now, only if you had provided any data that backs up your beliefs, I'd have been interested in your post. Everybody can make declarative statements, which is exactly what makes those pretty much useless for anything but than reinforcing an 'us' vs. 'them' mentality.
That's usually why threads get closed around here - the philosophy of this forum is the exact opposite i.e. to include and be helpful.
BTW, you may want to learn the meaning of the word 'exponentially', you are not using it properly.
