I would eat it. Got a decent pile of venison in the freezer I need to work through to make room though

Horse meat has been on the menu of the Harvard Faculty Club since the early 1800s.

I have never had any, but if its anything like Buffalo in texture I think it would be fairly good.

Most of the old vintage professional strops are made of horse butt. Old or new, they have less draw than the bovine we call Latigo. I personally prefer the horse because I don't like a lot of draw. I feel I have better control of the razor. As far as eating horsemeat ...... I guess I would try it but I've gotten along without it 63 years so I don't care one way or the other ;-)

Besides the horse meat eaten as a steak or such in Belgium it's very common to buy the sliced dried horse meat. Just like we're used to buying sliced turkey, pastrami,... It is very tasty and is usually used when making a sandwich. A bit salty and chewy but very very good. Also very high in protein and low in fat. Many athletes eat it because of the high protein/ low fat.

    Gentlemen,

For heaven's sake, all this horse meat talk while I debate what to put in my shake for lunch. Life's not fair. Get me a baguette and some mortadella, mustard, sliced tomato, and a Bloody Mary. I'll think about the horse strop later.

If you are looking for a high protein low fat meat I would suggest rabbit, twice the protein of chicken and little to no fat.
