Thanked: 1185Glad to see our grossly over paid elected officials are not afraid to tackle the big issues. A whole bunch of horseplay from a bunch of horse's a**es!
The older I get, the better I was

Horesmeat is a bit of a delicacy in Japan--it's often served sliced raw with onions. I can't eat it (raw meat--beef, chicken, horse--is not my thing) but I can't say I see any real problem with it. If someone offered me some horse stew or a big old steak, I'd not turn it down. Gotta be better than whale, at any rate.
You must be a fisherman, cause you sure seem to like trolling!

I think that this is a good thing. A slaughter house is a more humane alternative than the abandonment and neglect that I have observed recently.
I have found as a general rule that herbivores are much more tasty. Horse meat is delicious. I would hesitate to eat a dog unless it was raised on one of the vegetarian style dog foods.
Pigs are the most intelligent farm animal and most people have no problem eating them. Much smarter than a horse and most or all the dogs I have met. So I don't understand that line of thought.
It is hard to chase after a cow on a pig though!

It was legal just 5 years ago, although almost all of it was exported. With the re-legalization of it the stock prices will again rise on all of the good blood lines and there will be a decrease on the neglect that has become rampant. And the best part of all this is that I hear horse is GOOD EATING.

I spent a summer in Vienna a few years back and my dinner at least 5 nights a week came from a little sausage stand just up the road from the Volksoper. After the first few nights and recovery from jet lag I started trying new things. Currywurst is a big no. The stuff that ended up being horse was pretty tasty. I'd happily eat it again mit hotdog.
