I assume you are referring to the price for diesel fuel, LX?
In Belgium, 95 octane costs roughly 1.55 euro per litre. 98 octane costs roughly 1.65 euro per litre.

Last time I checked, here in Portugal, diesel was over 1.45 per litre and petrol was reaching 1.70 per litre. Very expensive. I remember filling up a tank of fuel with more litres than euros; now it is always more euros than litres. Our american friends have o idea how cheap their petrol is:
1 gallon (US) = 3.78 litres; 4$ per gallon means rooughly 1.05$ per liter. I wish I could pay that per liter here... For us, that sort of price is but a memory of 2004.

    I really like my bike.

We're at about $2.17 NZD for a liter of 95/96 at the moment or about €1.33. And here was I thinking I was being ripped off! I think I'll go fill up the car! Lol

Maybe I'm at risk of showing my age. Talking about the "value" of a dollar. I remember paying $0.18 per gallon. Pack of Camel regular was $0.25. A brand new Colt's Government model 1911A-1 .caliber .45 was $135.00 USD full retail. Of course if you made $100.00 USD per week that was big money. Now a dollar is worth a dime in equivalent buying power. Colt gov model $1,499.00 at Cabella's.

With all these quotes in the cost of gasoline how much of the price is due to taxes? The governments, world wide, make more more off the taxes than the companies that drill, refine, and distribute.

IIRC an Exon exec testified in a congressional hearing that they end up with $0.06 per gallon of refined gasoline. They seem to be doing alright though.

Yup, that's Diesel AND a 6 cent pricedrop in the last week. It was close to €1,45 two weeks ago.

    Gasoline is even pricier.

Oh, and in answer to the tax question......over 50% of the price is taxes. I hate our government for that.

Yes they do but considering that California alone makes 50 cents/gallon what does that tell you about how much money they take in? Some of the European countries get $2/gallon.

How much of that is taxes? Here the government makes more off a gallon of gas than the oil company does.
