Thanked: 1185I'd like to know the context in which this statement by the Chick Fil A owner was given. True, it is a bit of a dumb s**t move, but if you know this company it probably comes as no surprise that these folks are against same sex marriage (closed on Sunday, owned by a very traditional Southern Baptist family, etc.) That said, it is this man's right to have any opinion that suits him on the subject. He never said that he wouldn't serve homosexuals in his establishment and has harmed no one. The government (at any level) has no business harassing this man or dictating how or where his business will grow. I'm just gobsmacked that Romm Emmanuel (the first Jewish mayor of Chicago) would take a giant crap on this company for the opinions of its owner while hiring anti-semetic Nation of Islam goons to patrol the streets of Chicago. The ridiculum in this country gets worse every day! This smacks of big government trying to tell me what I'm allowed to believe. No Sir, not a big fan. PS: Politics aside, I am a huge fan of Chick Fil A, Great Food!

Ya gotta remember Emmanuel of Chicago is a democrat with close ties to the current president, he has to be gay friendly to seem "progressive", just as Romney must be "traditional" family oriented.
I agree, Chik-Fil-A has hurt no one in any way, no one has lost a job or denied service, but the grandstanders must make a show. Somebody asked this guy his opinion and when they got it they were not happy. So to hopefully change his opinion as well as yours, they make a show.
Currently it is working for Chik- Fil-A, as the gay pride community threatens a boycott, the others are running to Chik-Fil-A, despite the rhetoric the gay community is still small.Last edited by nun2sharp; 07-27-2012 at 01:36 AM.

Thanked: 6The nail has been hit on the head as far as I'm concerned.
If you don't like what a business does you don't have to support them with your money. As long as they dont violate any laws, they should not be treated as criminals.
If i see a store supporting something I don't want to support, i go elsewhere. Problem solved
BTW: Obama shared their views at the time he was elected president. Where are his pitchfork mobs?

You see in America we have a thing in the Constitution that protects freedom of speech. That's why a certain "baptist family" in Kansas can go around stating that God hate America, and God hates Fags, and even petition servicemen's funerals.
Hence a presidential candidate can say just about anything they want - it's up to the voter. And like you say, you get to vote with your hard earned dollars as to if you choose to eat at said eating establishment.
The issue isn't what the president of the company said - that's his right. But when government wants to put the brakes on a company entering their state just because they didn't like what the president of the co. said or stands for...David
