Fortunately I had the good sense to stay well clear of the other automatic thread but this one is epic indeed. My thoughts:
P-38: Love them, use one often
Electric can openers: Lame, hated it. IMHO somewhere very similar to an electric razor, a vile abomination indeed.
SPAM: Love it. Having spent many years in the South Pacific, I've really come to terms with what an amazingly versatile and delicious food this is. I remember a radio commercial in Guam for McDonald's Breakfast of Spam, Rice and Eggs. While this is indeed a great breakfast I prefer it with just some eggs, rye toast, grits with cheese
Political Sarcasm: You know, if we all just used P38 can openers, and checked the air in our tires, we'd never need fossil fuel again.

Lore is that the can opener was invented 50 years after the can was introduced.. I wonder what the preffered method was during that 50 years?

    Wouldn't that make it a P-51 ?
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Nah, P-38s are bigger than Mustangs. That would make it a P-61, a wicked cool plane!
