That obama sign is funny. This neighborhood usually has its fair share of political signs posted in yards but this election not near as many except a few diehards. I think America is starting to figure it out. We are screwed.

Yeah the idea of spending the equivalent of some country's GDP's on elections is kind of criminal. We'll fix it... I hope.

Of course on my road trip this week I forgot my camera! I had my phone but T Mobile is giving me grief and I just got these two off it so far.

The first inspired by Wullie is particularly depressing to me. I helped build it from cutting trees and sawing boards with my father. Damn am I getting that old.

The second is the reason for the trip. My youngest son. 45 yards across a ditch and up hill with his bow. Heart shot. Very deceiving range. I would have guessed it closer to 60 and got my range finder out to verify it. The picture does not do justice to how steep it is. It ran a ways, tipped over and slid 20 yards down to that tree and after the picture he pulled it to the side and let it go to slide the rest of the way down. He was afraid to break the horns when it hit bottom. A wonderful trip with my son!

Wow that's something... new and old. A kind of changing of the guard as it were?

An interesting insight that I hadn't thought of.

Found some old negatives the other day and the wife bought one of those things that will convert them to jpg files.

This is a "5 window" '54 First model Chevy 1/2 ton that I bought for a song because it was hard to start. It was a 6 volt and the previous owner had put a 12 volt starter on it. I gave 'em 800 bucks for it, push started it and drove it home. I pulled the starter off and took it back to NAPA and they swapped it out, no charge.

It had factory turn signals and a tube type AM radio that still worked!

It was my daily driver for two years.

One afternoon an ol boy offered me $3K cash and ride home for it. I took his money and the ride.

Kind of wish I still had the old beast.

Wow Wullie, I don't know if I should sing your praises for driving a vehicle for two years and then getting a cool $1,200 above what you paid for it... and a ride home! Or cry that you gave up on a classic.

You should have bought the little kit plane too lol!! Heck - with your luck you might have flown it for a couple of years and then made a cool 10K on that thing lol!!

I made $2200 on that old truck LOL. That little plane is what we lovingly referred to as the world's slowest airplane. It had about enough motor to get off the ground. The wing was WAY old school with a lot of under camber ( drag ). You had to fly the wing on that beast as it didn't have enough engine to get you out of a bind. It was fun, but I didn't want to own it. It was basically a Pietenpol "Air Camper"

on steroids as the builder made it bigger than the original plans yet kept the engine size the same..... It had a 65HP Continental on it.
