Thread: Road pics

I myself wouldn't mind a little bit of snow, for maybe a month or so just for the fun of it. Today is the first day we've had some rain for ages; and it's a nice foggy day, light steady rain, but not cold. Of course, the picture is not a road trip photo, it's my backyard. Notice how the grass is all dead from lack of water? the apple trees' leaves are just starting to colour and the vineyards around the area are already yellow with hints of red.
The pile of rubbish is from the renovation of a back room I started, we're allowed to burn after the end of April, so we'll have a big bonfire then and invite friends and family around for a few beers sitting around the fire.

I know nothing about Aus. seasons,but it is the beginning of your winter is it not?

One thing I like about snow is that my yard looks just as pretty as my neighbors.

Yes & when it thaws you can blame any damage on the snow , "Da*n, it looked great before the snow."

No, Autumn (Fall) allegedly started at the end of February, Winter starts in June. Normally we would have got some wet weather before now, I guess just as Winter is hanging on in the Northern climes Summer is hanging on here. July is our wettest month, but it can get really cold (for us) soon, as we still get clear nights (no clouds). Cold for us is zero. However, for me cold is anything less than about 25. I'm talking Celsius there of course. I like to be hot, I like it when it's about 35 - 40, though my favourite season is Spring. as i get older I hate Winter more and more, the arthritis starts to get annoying...

Around here cold is 0'F not 0'C. I laugh at that in the fall when it gets to 40'F [4.5'C] everyone has their coats on but in the spring we are in our tee shirts. It is what you are use to!
