Appears to be an example of why some argue for and many states have laws for appointed rather than elected judges. I doubt whether any POTUS, left or right leaning, would ever do or even want to do such a thing. However such extremist talk from officials who need to make impartial, well reasoned, and balanced judgements may alienate middle of the road voters from responsible right wing arguments.

Someplace where I can keep my hard-earned money and not have it go to some socialist healthcare system! Oh, wait...
Things that won't happen if Obama gets re-elected: civil war, UN taking away guns, secession. This judge epitomizes FUD.

I think there will there will be riots if Obama looses. Occupy lefties going berzerk. They are already proven violent. I agree with Commicat, this Judge and this press is just stirring the pot.

It's probably a good thing most crazy lefties are anti-gun...I certainly won't be rioting, just waiting patiently for the promised prosperity to "trickle down" and for all the job creators to create jobs instead of stuffing them in their pockets.
People always go nuts about this stuff...and it's never the apocalypse everyone warns about. No matter who gets elected, it won't be the end of the US, there will just be things that happen the losing side won't like.

This was interesting but i was bit sorry to read this. Cannot say how to put it but i feel a bit ashamed every time i read statements like this. We have our lunatics too, very small minority, but they are the ones to make the biggest noise.
Not that i really care a bit about who's going to be your next president, but i think it is childish if not even barbaric to threaten with war when someone gets elected legally into any office. Sort of a 'judge'. I wonder what kind of world would he like to live in.
What is going on? You are getting divided in two and some people are doing their best to push it even further. I cannot say why but i can only guess.
In two-party system it happens that one or another gets the majority but in countries where are three, four or even twenty parties it is most difficult or even impossible for any group to get more than half of all votes. That would be a catastrophe here. That is why most governments are formed from parties that are capable of making compromises. Giving up to gain some. Maybe we have learned something about history.

Only in America....
You know, eveyr 4 years, people preach doom and gloom. Obama is going to take you guns. Bush is creating a police state. Kerry is a flipflopper. Palin is a hillbilly. Romney is a corporate shill. It's like everyone goes just a little nuts every 4 years, come election season.
Obama did not take your guns.
You will not have another revolution.
And all the nutters will rant a couple of months about their favorite conspiracy theories as if there is any substance to it.
And then things will calm down again.
I remember denmason arguing with total conviction that Bush was going to impose martial law in order to postpone elections. and the republicans would 'debunk' Obama's birth certificate the day before the election in order to 'steal' the election. Etc...
I blame the 2 party system.
Under a 2 party system, things always devolve into a situation where both parties hamstring any upcoming 3d party. And everything boils down to totally in favor, or completely against. It is in their own interest to make sure there is no ideological overlap, compromise or concensus. People become polarized. In multi party systems, absolute majorities are unheard of and parties are forced to work together to get things done.
Mind you, I don't see that change any time soon. As a country you just have to accept that everyone goes a little bananas every 4 years.Last edited by Bruno; 08-23-2012 at 07:33 PM.
