Just becasue you had a potential weapon doesn't mean you were planning to use it as such and they can't prosecute you for that. The burdon of evidence is on THEM. Not on the person that they stop in the street.

There's some areas in Amsterdam (And maybe some other places) where this isn't true and where any sharp edge will get you in trouble. But most of the country is just fine.

Ironically, two places I've had a knife drawn on me were Spanish Harlem in New York City and the red light district around Voorburgwaal in Amsterdam - both where knives are illegal! Some people just don't seem to care... :-(

Well.....criminals usually don't care about the law they're breaking. That's the point. Most laws target law abiding citizens more than they target criminals.

its sad i was in one attemped muggin back in june on my way to my truck when i worked an evenign shift i was bent down tying my boot (old army combat boot) a short little collage dude comes up with a small pocket knife and says he wanted my wallet well even tho we have a no weapons polocy at work i always have my boot knife in my left boot when i work past 6 pm for this reason, all i did was lift up my pant leg and grab it out and he ran like a scared little girl, glad i dident have time to think because i might have had time to be scared lol id love to know why it would kill people to try to find a part time job like i have to help get some extra cash. as far as run it dident even cross my mind my mind just went back to all the what i then considered crap advice my my uncle who is a natanial guardsman he taugh me some basic knife fighting skill and some hand to hand stuff i never thought id have to use it and im glad i dident but after i went in and told managemnt (i left out the boot knife detail) and they now have 2 new lights in the parking lot and a security camera that over looks the lot
