I have to say that NHL hockey has been completely off my "must watch" list since i saw someone flatten Gretzky at centre ice one time and the poor bastard got sent to the minors. At that point in time, I just decided it was definately not for the love of the game but for its commercial and economic value to the individuals that were talented enough to get to that level of play and protected by the league. It is a crying shame for those of us who loved the game so much but could not play at that level. I would have said "bring up some minor players or juniors" but now even the OHL has collective bargaining WTF is that about???
I'm going to have to stick to watchin minor hockey i guess!

Let's see...the Board of Gov's ("NHL Owners") broke the union several years ago, and imposed their own specified terms under the CBA ("Collective Bargaining Agreement"). The sport then generated record revenues. The CBA then expired. NHLPA ("Player's Union") offered to continue under the terms of the expired CBA until a new one was hashed out. Owners refused to do so. Bd. of Gov's then cancelled the regular season schedule through Oct. 24.
This summer, the idiot owner of the Minnesota Wild signed 2 players for nearly $200 million within a few days, and now pleads poverty.
WHO'S BEING GREEDY NOW???
