It has been a heart rending event for us who can only listen and watch.Bob

As of an hour or so ago 48 people who were alive before Sandy are dead as a result of this storm. Boggles the mind.

Chiming in. I and mine are fine, actually it was pretty much a non event here. Now I have friends in NYC who are in deep crap. All the best to those underwater up there.

The storm is over. Not much damage done to my town. I didn't lose power, but a few nearby neighborhoods did. I contacted my mom and family back in NYC and they're doing fine too. Some of my friends in NJ and Long Island lost power, but they're doing well. So far, so good.

Stay Safe Out There-Huricane Sandy
Not too much damage on my property, however, no power, heat, or cell service for the next 2 weeks if I'm lucky.
The whole area is without power and cell. Kinda creepy. Any stores I've been lucky enough to find "open" don't have power and only take cash.

Thanked: 498Well as a Philadelphian I was expecting the worst cause thats what we do around here. We do tend to be a glass half empty sort, us Philly crowd.
But by the grace of God I managed to escape any damage & power outages from the storm. Home & business. Thats not to say there wasnt any around. The most typical damage around my neighborhood was curb side trees up-rooted, & power.
My sister who lives about 20 miles from me still is without power.
Here are some photos of my neighborhood.
I hope everyone who was effected by the storm is safe & is recovering from this nightmarish storm.
God Bless

Stay Safe Out There-Huricane Sandy
Well, a full week with no power or heat. Needless to say I've been showering and shaving with cold (understatement), water. I won't miss the cold shower when the electric is back, however, I'm kinda diggin the cold water shaves.
Supposedly another week or so until utilities are back.
The military base has been flying in utility trucks and crews from across the country, huge helicopters dropping trucks in the thick of things...its amazing to see really.Last edited by ZeroCool; 11-05-2012 at 04:08 PM.
