Thanked: 1936Potential Ban/Brady Bill part deux?
Out of curiosity I checked out www.gunbroker.com where I buy a lot of parts to build AR-15's, you can't find any lowers anywhere & if you do they are literally $500 each...I usually buy them for around $110. What have you guys been hearing?

Thanked: 1371Re: Potential Ban/Brady Bill part deux?
I was BSing at a couple of gun shops yesterday; one of the dealers was at a gun show Monday.
They're all out of AR parts, and not sure they'll be able to get more.
The one that went to the gun show said it was crazy there. If you showed up and bought something right away in the morning you could have sold it for double by the end of the day.
AR parts are selling like Twinkles right now.

I knew that was coming. No doubt about it. I haven't been to my LGS or to Walmart but I bet 223 ammo is gone too. It is going to be slim pickins until this is all hashed out. If you want any hi-cap mags get 'em now.

Isn't this a repeat of what happened after Obama got elected in 2008?
There was a rush on certain types of guns and ammo, and the ensuing problems and price hikes were only due to hoarding.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 1936I'm not kidding, I just went to gunbroker.com and typed in ar-15 in the semiauto rifle section and only got 601 hits, at least 10% isn't even a serial numbered gun, lower, or complete lower. I have seen that number close to 10K this year. I am amazed at the "run" that is happening.
All I can find is that there is "backing" on some sort of legislation towards "assault" weapons. Has anything happened or is it just the fear driving this stampede?Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanked: 1587I don't understand.
How is it that Obama cannot get his budget to actually run the country passed, and yet you think he will somehow miraculously get gun control bills passed?
Or do I not understand how the legislative system works in the US?

Some form of gun control beyond what we now have will probably get passed. The murder of innocent children is political dynamite. Even pro gun democrats are talking new gun laws. At minimum I imagine the former assault weapons ban will be reinstated. The pols have to CYA by appearing to actually do something .... even if it is ineffectual.
