Currently I'm a full time student, doing NROTC for the Marine Corps, and still looking for work. In a predominantly liberal town, 30k college student will do that to ya, a skinny kid with a shaved head is frowned upon.

So far I've worked as a janitor for 5 years, Retail in a clothing store for 3 years, Airport attendant (I fueled the planes and worked the radio) for 2 years, did maintenance and transportation at a bank for a year, and I worked at a car wash doing maintenance and landscaping for around 5 years. During high school I averaged 60 hours a week and 80 during the summer.

Salary is a double edged sword....

Let just say that 40 hours is like part time

LOL my first year at my current employer I was hourly. I worked one hour of overtime in that year. In the seven salaried years since then, I've probably had one week under 40.

Just because they say you are "salary" does not necessarily mean that they are not required to pay you overtime. Your profession must be an "exempt" profession for them to avoid overtime payment.

Very true. I make salary but I am not exempt so whatever overtime I work I get paid for it.

I'm a composer and freelance cultural management and programming consultant.
I've got a masters degree in artistic studies and a post-graduate in european law.
Because of the past extravagances of my government that have effectively sunk the Portuguese economy, I'm a 27 year old highly prepared and qualified individual with virtualy no experience that is unable to find a job... But it could be worse: I could be shot in the back of the head by a sniper!

Good luck in your search for gainful employment.

    Keep your head down.
