If all else fails a couple of landmines will do the trick. Just a couple of mangled cars with skeletons in them will tell them all they need to know.
Here's a rough idea of what I had in mind:

You could always do something a little more ornate:

Snow? What's that?
I was thinking a gate like this, do you guys have those over there?

Ever see the movie "Layer Cake"? "Everyone likes to walk through a door labeled 'Private' so have a good reason to do so". The signs actually are working against you. It defys all reason but it's true. People still test the sincerity of the signs at area 51. The more you post the less likely anyone is to respect that. Only a physical barrier will prevent them. In my opinion the more signs that you post the worse the problem will get as it peaks the curiosity of those wondering what is so special beyond the signs. The best deterrent is probably a severely il-maintained road or a gate. I live in a very mundane town home complex that doesn't attract visitors because it's so boring.
Not QUITE I don't think, though the system may be different over there. Tort law may slightly modify that idea. For instance, if someone drives over the spikes, even on Glen's land, and that causes them to drive in to a tree and get injured, they could sue. If a burglar accesses your roof space to gain access to your house and gets electrocuted by the anti burglar system you've installed, you're liable. I THINK that's the generally idea, I must ask LegalBegal...
OCDshaver has a point... You could put up signs claiming how boring it is beyond that point.

No one would go down your road ever again.
Yeah, they're like saying "The guy that lives here is going to get REALLY pissed off if you go up this road". So people are going up the road to piss you off. It's like some old guy putting a sign out the front of his house saying "Don't throw stones on my roof". You reckon the local kids aren't going to throw stones on the roof?
I would be in lnclined to block the excess accessways from the other properties making the last half of the road entirely yours, and entirely your responsibility, then as others have said some kind of gateposts at least with a mailbox if your so inclined, that is done over here on rural properties to delineate the entrance to the property, even open gates on this should get the message accross. You could also fit a sensor operated recording of a shotgun to the gate, and if you are good at taxidermy hang some stuffed family pet type animals from trees just inside the gate.
