Thank you for the compliment!
The owners day is quite filled up for today! I've made arrangements to deliver the razor to her on Friday AM!
While I do hope that there will be an article about what has transpired, I seek No Glory! I'm just an old Red Necked Country Boy who has learned to love an age old art and just tries to do what he can to help others.
I would just hope that any such article would get someone else interested in learning the Art of shaving with and maintaining a straight razor, hopefully one that is an heirloom!

Awesome convincing her that it was worth saving. Hopefully she cherished it even more
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Understand that you have taken an heirloom and memories and have refreshed them in the minds of the family by doing so. Red neck or not get some pictures to post. You are inspiring people with your story that read it here and a few pictures here and in the paper wouldn't hurt either. Good luck and enjoy the moment!!

As I stated when I started this thread, I'm a Mastodon with this computer crap!!! The digital camera that I bought for myself for my recent 60th birthday so far has been worthless as I can't figure out how to use 90+% of the functions/let alone use it to post pictures!!!
It's not like I've never used a camera before (I have a very nice paper weight, it's called a Canon F1!) And I can use it and all of the features Very Well! But that was in the days of a thing called 'film'!
If it wasn't for my son's girlfriend, there wouldn't be any picture of the clean up! The before pictures were provided by the owner.
After much frustration I'd finally figured out how to post the pictures she had taken!!!
Give me a wrench, a nut and a bolt any day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back on track! I do hope that there will be an article!! And that it will lead those who have an heirloom razor stored away will get it back in use and then learn the Art!

Ive been a machinist for 35 yrs. I know metal but have no clue about digital also. If it wasn't for my son helping me I would be trying to draw a picture with a crayon on the screen and figure it would work. I know what you mean! Good luck with the digital future my friend!!

Liar Liar Pants on Fire!!
Yea, I made a liar out of myself!! The owner had some time to be able to meet with me today and my project is literally in the garbage!
Oh, was she pleased! And to add frosting to the cake, her son had emailed her that he was Very Interested in using it and that some time ago he had joined a straight razor forum (I do hope it’s SRP)!!
I presented her with her great grandfather’s straight attached to a single rose wrapped for presentation while on one knee and said; “ Sheila, I present you your great grandfather’s straight razor, and then to witness her tenderly caress the cleaned and polished scales and then gently open the oiled blade and say Oh My God! It’s beautiful!! Was more than money could ever buy!!
All those years ago, the Beatles were right! ‘Money Can’t Buy You Love’!
