What I anticipate may be nowhere close to reality. Seems like a good guess though. I've measured the angle at a shy 15 (14.8) degrees so it may be a bit twitchy. Most others in this style come out a bit steeper which offers a nice shave.

heespharm, I hope yours is better shape than this . They don't really polish out the same as most parts are chrome plated. I wanted it to round out the collection just to see all the options that were available over time. This may end up just sitting there for all I know looking a bit odd in its funky way.

OK , I used it along with a W&B 13/16 in Ivory. A Torrey with MOP tang and just a pretty razor. And a Geo. Wostenholm Le Coultre pattern frame back similar in style to the Curley. Well sort of. The Wosty has heft due to the solid frame. The Curley is a thin hollow tube with a blade stuck in it.
The W&B you know blindfolded what it is. The Torrey ran away with the show both in looks and shave quality even with the W&Bs new Ivory scales. The Wosty was on par with this style frame back . Great performance.
    But the Curley?
Initial measurements gave me an angle of 14.76 degrees. A light razor with this angle gave me some pause. Two layers of tape got me to 17 degrees. OK let's go.
Without the guard it was so light! Shaved like most any other blade but needed attention partly due to no mass. If you have some experience it worked just fine.
But put the guard bar on it and it was a totally different razor. You almost didn't have to be concerned about the tip catching you. I felt like I could do most anything with reckless abandon . Flipping the bar took seconds as you changed sides/ hands / direction. With the added weight it felt solid in your hands and against your face I was having fun playing with this toy. I could do this more often and have a ball. What a difference. I felt like I only had to concentrate on my direction and getting the whiskers and not be too concerned with all the other factors like tip, angles etc what hoot!
If I come across more or some extra blades I'll grab them no questions asked. Maybe too I was caught up in the novelty of it but I can say it gave a shave much better than I expected. I enjoyed it very much.
