    Default Duck soup

Tried a new, to me, scale material. Kirinite. Very nice to work with. I replaced the paper micarta scales on a Dubl Duck Special No. 1. A sacrilegious non-traditional result. I saved the paper micarta scales if I need to make a retreat.

I like the kirinite, ive wanted to try it ever since Thomas from Roaring Bear knives showed it to me. how does it work, does it burn/melt at all when cutting or easy straight forward?

Thank you. I had read that it is sensitive to heat from too much pressure on the buffer, so I took it slow and easy. I had no problem with it on the belt sander, scroll saw, or buffer. I will definitely use this material again in the future.

No retreat, No surrender. It's your Duck now :<0) Looks good. I have a piece of Kirinite and haven't used it because it got soft and supple in the shop on a hot day. It kind of melted over as it was not sitting flat. I heated it back up and flattened it out but never used it for that reason. It never gets that hot in my house so I should give it a shot sometime.

Duck soup, made me think of the Marx Brothers movie, Pleasant memory. Nice job and scales appropriate to the blade. The time period I mean. I wouldn't want to see them on a Sheffield but on a Solingen FH they are 'right.' Hadn't heard of the Kirinite, looks cool, stay away from kryptonite though ......
