    These were not too bad and since I do consider these to be an investment toward my collection, I wanted to keep their good traits while lightly improving their bad ones. I have seen so many in this condition with the scales lopped off, replaced with something not nearly accurate, and the blade sanded and buffed to oblivion. The value goes down the drain as a collectible as that is done. The history is also erased. There are too many in bad shape out there to use as a custom canvas, IMO.

    I love making something from nothing, but as I begin with an actual something, I try to refrain from doing too much. Just me
