Wow that's quite amazing!
I've been working on getting that smooth finish on blades and have had some success but Ofcourse nothing that nice!
How do you prevent ripples from rust on the blade? Sometimes they just don't go away and it seems too much steel is being removed...
Also where, what brand of wheels are the best?
And what is this lead impregnated leather wheel thingy?

I will say this for Wolfpacks blades, he has done two for me so far, and aside from the stunning aesthetic look of his restores, you would be hard pressed not to think the razor was NOS when he's done with it, the edge that he puts on the razor is something every straight razor user should experience, incredible.

Here is a razor my wife found for me in Orangeville at a Flea Market at the side of the road about three months ago, she paid $10.00 for this 6/8 Challenge Cutlery, an American made razor, it was in horrible condition, Wolfpack turned back the hands of time on this one, and for a Sheffield guy like me, this razor is an absolute stellar shaver, and, basically, looks brand new:

Thank you Mike! I'm not quite sure what you mean by "ripples from rust on the blade", but generally the first thing I do is use a soft brass wire wheel to clean off all the rust. I then have a good idea of what to work with as far as the blade goes, where the pits are and how big a problem they're going to be etc.

As far as what kind of wheels are the best, they're are others here on SRP that can give you a much better idea of that than me. Check the Workshop forum for lots of info on that: The Workshop

The leather wheel is a larger size wheel (1 inch and 1.5 inch diameter) that I use with a Dremmel for polishing. It is coated with soft lead to approximate what they used to use to polish blades back in the old days. That and Crocus. I've been playing around with it for a while now and so far I'm liking the results, although it takes a bit of time and patience to get the right effect. An aspirator or mask is recommended...and regular washing of the hands.

Thanks for the info I'll check that out. To get the sharp lines I've had to sand blades down by hand. I use the rotary with greaseless compound and the harder finishing compounds, but have a hard time because with the rotary the edges/lines get rounded off... your lines are sharp...
any suggestions?
The ripples.. I mean from pitting, it almost seems the pits get dug deeper on some blades, OR the finish is just not as mirror flat as the way they were made back then...
Well, I guess that's a big info request. I appreciate the info already given and will look into the workshop.

I guess the only thing I can tell you is that it just takes a lot of time and patience. I use everything at my disposal: Hand Sanding, Bench Buffer, Dremmel...BUT mostly I just take my time and I'm stubborn as hell.
