    Default A little smile

    I worked out this little design today with planes on having a near wedge grind,should have one ready to heat treat in a day or so.

    Long tails seem to be in fashion these days. I like the idea of modeling them in composite wood first.

    I like to do mock ups like this to see how it feels in your hand,I do the same thing when I'm designing a new knife model,start out with a picture in your mind,sketch it out,transfer your sketch to wood and see if it's what you want or if it needs a little tweaking.

    Before you go farther, try stropping it. The curve and thickness of the tang may make it a challenge.

    I agree that is a a great idea to make one from wood first before cutting any metal! I can't wait to see the finished product

    Well I tried it,got a good rhythm going and the dang thing caught fire !
