Oops, yea I missed that whole aspect of this thread. Would they not have been the same blanks? Just not scalloped?

I can't comment on the Friodur but I do have a couple of carbon steel Henckels. Fine shavers for sure, how does the Friodur compare?

    No..

The Second Generation are quite different, way more refined.. The Third Generations are pretty clunky when compared side to side

Seems those were found 'blanks' which someone found and someone else and someone else finished?

The older ones feel smoother to my face BUT that is simply MHO the older ones also seems to be more forgiving on the hones, the 3rd Generation require a bit of playing around to get right..

There is another 3.5 Generation out there that you see every now and then that has only a Single man

Then you have the 4th Generation that came out recently

They are all Friodurs they all shave well but there are differences

PS I do not claim to be a Friodur expert either

But there was a time back in 08-10 where it seemed that there was always one on the bench

I have had so many cross the bench and the hones that I have formed opinions take them with a grain of salt

Many love them, Tom told me he prefers the carbon steel. Your opinion Glen is pretty good in my book since you honed a few of these.
