Charlie; Your 'compliment' of my very first razor's grind after Ron had set the bevel to check the edge will never leave my memory, I loved it! I found it so astute but also so funny---

Anybody seeing this & about to make some scales should pay close attention to how thin Glen made those scales. This is to allow the tapered tang to flex the scales thru the range of movement. Along with a tapered wedge providing the optimal friction when open & no stress on the pivot when closed. Without those 2 factors you basically have a pocket knife with a pivot that will loosen up in no time.

Only just seeing this, lovely collaboration between Glen & Roy, I'm definitely seeing a lot of vintage Hoshi Tombo 6500 in that design, excellent looking razor and scales.
