stropper, that w&b looks Killer in red! I now know what my idea will look like, sorta. I'm going for a red & black marble acrylic handle, but the red acrylic looks so good, it put a smile on my face! Here's my w&b, still under construction!

That wedge should look good in red and black marble. The original scales look good enough to save, maybe for a future project.

rchljoey, I just picked up a W&B off ebay similar to yours minus the handle. I was told it's a 1810-1819 vintage. I'm including a link to the auction so you can see what shape it is in before an attempted restore. Not sure what I'll be wrapping this jewel in, wood or horn... Presently it's a shy 13/16 at the toe and a fat 12/16 at the heel. not sure where to go from here...

Stropper, I must say that looks superb, if not original! Except I dont think they had arylic like that in those days, it's truly remarkable how perfectly you replicated the originals. Materpiece. I cant wait to see your 'set' once you have obtained and complied it! Traffic lights!

The scales are horn, neatsfoot oil will bring them back

+1 and progressive sanding ~ say 320 -3000 grit will make them like new.

I'm sure it will turn out great. I'm looking forward to the photos... Thanks for the congrats! This is the first W&B I have ever held in my hands and I've got to say, I really like the weight of the blade. I can't wait to finish it for the first shave..... But i could use a little advise here. Are these blades usually curved or straight? This one has a slight curve as I received it but I have never owned one so I am not sure how it's supposed to be. Any help?
